Peter holds a BSC degree and is a qualified CCIE. He is extremely well known in the networking and telecommunications arena, having worked in Mpumalanga and
subsequently in Africa for the past 16 years. He is a qualified Cisco professional and has been responsible for building the VBX products to date. Prior to VBX he was the Regional Chief Executive for Africa at Business Connection, where he deployed NGN telecommunications and Internet gateway solutions in Ethiopia, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Nigeria and Eritrea.

Brian Hyson

DIRECTOR

Executive Director

Following a business opportunity, Brian moved to Nelspruit, Mpumalanga in 1978, and began an office equipment company called Lowveld Business Machines. During this time Brian and his team built the business into the leading office equipment and subsequent IT company in the area. Lowveld Business Machines was eventually sold to QData in 1995 – now Business Connexion. Brian is one of
the founding members of VBX Communications (Pty) Ltd and currently holds the position of Sales Director. Outside of his business life he is very involved in the local community of his hometown Nelspruit, where he was instrumental in building a school, Uplands College, of which he was the first Vice Chairman of the Board. Brian has also been President of both the Nelspruit and White River Rotary Clubs and has sat on the Board of the Tourism section of the Chamber of Commerce.

Jacques Coetzee

TECHNICAL

Senior VoIP Solutions Engineer

Jacques has a Diploma in Electronic Engineering and is an HP Certified Systems Engineer. In addition is a Microsoft Certified Professional, Microsoft Licencing Specialist, and has a Diploma in Networking along with a number of other Cisco and HP trade certifications. He is also highly skilled with developing and implementing business processes, and has good project management skills. He has been involved in the Information Technology and Telecoms arena for over seventeen years, beginning with Wide Area Technologies and Solutions, progressing onto Site Engineering, IT Management, Professional Services, Project Management, Software Auditing, Operations Management, Business Development and finally VoIP Solution sales and Engineering. With this vast spectrum of involvement within the IT industry he has gained invaluable insight into best practices, business risks and limiting their impact, and his current technological core focus area – VoIP Technology.”

Sean David

TECHNICAL

Senior Systems Engineer

Sean has a Systems Engineer Diploma from The Zone and is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) (MCP+I), as well as completing numerous Linux, security and virtual private networking (VPN) courses. Sean has over 10 years IT experience and was the Network Administrator for the South African branch of a large fortune 500 IT company. Sean has more than four years of VoIP technical experience, ranging from small to large corporate systems and call centres. Sean also has a very impressive head of hair.

Chiratidzo (Tijo) Majonga

TECHNICAL

VoIP Engineer

Tijo Majonga is VBX’s incredibly knowledgeable and skilled VoIP engineer. Tijo has multiple diplomas in Computer Science, Computer systems design and management information systems and has also completed a number of Linux (Linux+,LPI1 & CLA) networking, hardware and data centre (Dc Tech Spec) certifications. Tijo has over five years’ experience in IT and is always looking for new opportunities to learn more about his field of expertise.

Theresa Lopez

Technical Consultant

Theresa has been with VBX since its inception. She has been challenged to operate within almost every area of the business; she was initially involved in administration, had a sales role, a training role and now she runs the Support Desk. As VBX grows she is sure to have even more demanded of her, and she looks forward to the challenge. She is an assertive straight shooter, but as a mom of two boys, she also knows how to practice a bit of patience, and she treats our clients and their queries with great respect and assists wherever she can.

Thor van der Mescht

Sales Manager

Thor recently joined VBX as our Sales Manager and he has already made a big impact at VBX, with his charismatic personality and incredible product knowledge. Thor has over 14 years of industry knowledge beginning his career as a PBX fitter. He has completed his CCNA certification and is well versed in most PBX technologies including SDM, TDM , and IP systems. Thor also has various networking certifications and sales certifications, with this experience in hand he has learned how to build reliable, cost effective solutions taking care of our customers needs. Thor is also a dedicated family man with his wife and daughter supporting his ongoing martial art studies in Shaolin and Wudang Kung Fu at the Wudang Wushu Institute South Africa.

Sandra Simpson

SALES

Sales Consultant

Sandra Simpson is our sales consultant based in Nelspruit, and the newest edition to the VBX flock. Her job is to find opportunities in the voice sector of business in the Lowveld area. Sandra spends a lot of her time on the road finding companies and explaining the benefits of VBX. The job is varied and interesting, and she admits that it’s completely different to other positions she’s held before.

Sandra is already making a significant contribution to VBX, and enjoys working at their Nelspruit office, which allows her to enjoy outdoor living and the beauty of the Lowveld bush.

Gianna van Deventer

Administration

Administration

Gianna has several years’ experience as a credit analyst , and more recently, bravely took on the role of a driving instructor. At VBX she takes care of administration and still has to make sure that we don’t roll back and do all our checks. She has exceptional organisational skills, is excellent at the wheel and is a great asset to VBX.
